La Fabrique du Net lists and compares digital agencies to help decision-makers quickly identify the most relevant partners. Our rankings rely on a structured, transparent and evolving methodology, dedicated exclusively to agencies.
An agency does not get into our pages because it asks to, and it does not climb because it looks good on paper. It climbs because it is verifiable: a real, active business, demonstrated expertise, clients speaking in their own name, a profile kept up to date.
There is no general ranking of agencies. Each page has its own, built for the demand it represents: a discipline, sometimes an area. The same agency can lead on its home ground and be absent elsewhere, and that is the point.
Before any promotion, we verify that the agency is a real, active and structured player (legal existence, stability, consistency of its offering).
Goal: keep out opportunistic or poorly qualified profiles, and guarantee a minimum level of seriousness.
We value agencies able to demonstrate genuine expertise (technologies, frameworks, client cases) over a generalist pitch.
A highly specialised agency can rank above a generalist agency within a given scope.
We take into account the number, quality, detail and recency of reviews. Only reviews confirmed by their author count: a review imported by an agency stays visible on its page until it is confirmed, flagged as unverified, but it then weighs on no rating.
A small number of reviews does not exclude an agency, but mechanically limits how prominently it is featured.
A complete, consistent and up-to-date profile weighs on display order: documented work, verifiable information, recent activity. This is the criterion an agency has the most control over, and it cannot be bought, only filled in.
At a comparable level, a maintained profile ranks ahead of one left as it is.
We assess the agency's presence in its market: website quality, expert content, social presence and industry recognition.
Between agencies of comparable standing, the order is not fixed. It is refreshed regularly, so that equivalent agencies are not locked into a place won once and for all. Two visits a few hours apart can produce a different order: that is deliberate, and the same rule applies to everyone.
When too few agencies match a query exactly, we widen the net rather than show a thin page: a broader geographic area, an immediately adjacent expertise. Those agencies come as a complement, never in place of the ones that genuinely match.
Assessments are recalculated regularly, without anyone having to ask. An agency that enriches its profile or collects new reviews sees it in its pages within days.
On La Fabrique du Net, display order combines an editorial assessment with commercial partnerships. Both exist, they do not blend into each other, and the second is labelled on the page.
A partnership acts on visibility: a spot in the highlighted area, a better rank in the list, an enriched profile, a badge. It is labelled on the platform and its terms are public.
See partnership terms →All the others are positioned by the same criteria, with no consideration of any kind. Most of the agencies shown on the site pay us nothing.
An agency can pay to be more visible, and you can see it on the page. It cannot pay to be assessed more favourably. A partnership changes neither its rating, nor its reviews, nor the criteria applied to it, nor the right to appear at all: an agency that fails our checks does not get in, whatever budget it puts on the table. And a partner whose quality slips drops back like everyone else.

A review can arrive in two ways: submitted directly by the client through a link we send them, or imported by the agency from another platform. In both cases we ask its author to confirm it. A confirmed review carries the "Verified" label and counts towards the agency's score. An unconfirmed review stays on display, flagged as "Unverified", and feeds no calculation: not the score, not the ranking, not the verified-review counters. We do not remove a review at the request of the agency it concerns.
We source agencies through active monitoring and registration requests. We verify the existence, the clarity of the offering and the references of every agency.
No. We turn down companies that do not offer minimum guarantees of seriousness or whose reputation is questionable.
They benefit from specific visual cues (badge, enriched profile) that are clearly identifiable on the platform.
Yes, provided the information supplied is factual, verifiable and consistent with their actual business.
Yes. An agency can ask for its profile to be removed, and we also delist, on our own initiative, an agency that has ceased trading, whose information can no longer be verified, or that no longer offers the expected guarantees. Requests go through our contact form and are handled by our team.
Write to us with the facts: we correct what is wrong, on any profile, including yours. We do not, however, move an agency up a ranking on request. That would empty the methodology of its meaning, and its meaning is exactly what makes it worth something.
