Capital Models Ltd is a model-making and laser-cutting workshop based in London. The company offers a comprehensive range of architectural modelling, cutting and machining services, combining traditional craftsmanship with digital technologies. Founded by a recognised 3D modeller and architect, the agency has a skilled team working within a fully equipped workshop. All services are produced in-house, enabling Capital Models to maintain quality control and commercial competitiveness whilst giving clients the opportunity to track the progress of their projects.
Services and expertise
Architectural modelling
Capital Models has been involved in the creation of architectural models for 35 years. The team interprets complex designs into scale models, combining digital techniques and manual craftsmanship. The agency offers creative and bespoke solutions for recognised architects, designers and artists.
Laser cutting
The workshop has five state-of-the-art laser-cutting machines, with a maximum cutting format of 1980 x 1180mm. Capital Models works with a variety of materials: acrylic, perspex, solid wood, plywood, MDF, paper, cardboard, fabric and leather. Services include personalised engraving on trophies and promotional items, as well as precision cutting for prototyping and production runs.
CNC machining
The agency has a 3-axis CNC machine with 3D capabilities. The cutting area measures 1524 x 2440mm with a maximum material thickness of 150mm. It processes materials not suitable for laser cutting: wood, Foamex, Perspex, Dibond, as well as melamine and laminated panels.
Lighting
Capital Models integrates bespoke lighting systems into projects to enhance designs and messages. The team produces illuminated display cases and lightboxes for exhibitions and events, as well as illuminated signage for film sets and shop windows.
Complementary workshop
The workshop also offers joinery, finishing, 3D printing and vinyl cutting, all carried out in-house using Capital Models' own equipment.
